	KRC Genk - S.T.V.V. 4-0 <BR> <BR> <BR>Blues thrash Rivals by 4-0! <BR> <BR>Genk, 20 November 2003 <BR>KRC Genk have beaten local rivals Sint-Truiden by 4-0 on Saturday night. It was a fairly balanced game, especially during the first half, despite the result and Genk-goalkeeper Jan Moons made some great saves to deny the visiting strikers. <BR> <BR>But Genk seemed rampant during the second half, scoring 4 goals to give the visitors their worst drubbing in a Derby since beating them 0-5 in 1999. Paul Kpaka opened the scoring after beating the visiting defence on speed. Beslija evaded a late challenge by STVV-goalkeeper Belic to double the score. Sigurdsson scored his first for the Blues after being set up nicely by Thijs and Kevin Vandenbergh slotted home the fourth minutes after coming on as a substitute for the tiring Kpaka. <BR> <BR>Changes in Starting Line-Up <BR> <BR>Sef Vergoossen surprised friend and foe with the starting line-up. Despite the fact no changes had been announced, Kevin Vandenbergh and Marco Ingrao started on the bench, with Thomas Chatelle and Akram Roumani returning to the starting line-up. Paul Kpaka made his full debut for the hometeam, replacing the injured Cédric Roussel. Hans Leenders made his first start of the season in stead of the equally injured Aaron Mokoena. <BR> <BR>Roumani took the left back position, with Sigurdsson operating in left midfield. Chatelle played behind Kpaka, who started as the sole striker. <BR> <BR>Jan Moons <BR> <BR>During the first half, Genk struggled with the visitors defensive attituted. STVV clearly hoped to hit the Blues on the counter attack, but fortunately Jan Moons was in fine form to deny them. Genk too had a few chances, but Chatelle hesitated before shooting and Thijs hit the post from outside the box. <BR> <BR>During the second half, Genk were rampant, with Kpaka, Beslija, Sigurdsson and Vandenbergh setting the stadium alight. <BR> <BR>Because of Brugge's defeat at GBA, Brugge - now in 5th - trail Genk by 6 points. Moeskroen - currently 4th - are 5 points behind Genk courtesy of a 2-1-win against Heusden-Zolder. <BR>
